The revised Capital Requirements Directive introduced remuneration requirements for MiFID investment firms. Such firms are required to have remuneration policies and practices that are consistent with and promote sound and effective risk management. The European Securities and Markets Authority (‘ESMA’) is required to develop further guidelines on the application of remuneration requirements to MiFID investment firms.
